Train Your Bike
Saturday 7/17 and Sunday 7/18 from 8AM to 11AM.
Location: South parking lot of old Amway Arena, Downtown Orlando.
Parking: if you’re driving a car, you can park in the lot for the Downtown Recreation Center at the west side of the arena lot
For the course:
- Bicycle: multi-speed preferred; please no fixed gear (unless you’re really good with stopping and high-speed turning); street-worthy tires—avoid knobbies
- Helmet required
- Gloves are a good idea
- Sunblock
- Water bottle
We will have a cooler if you’d like to store cold drinks. Eat a balanced breakfast. You may want to bring a snack, as well. Please be sure your brakes and gears are in good, working order! If you’d like to have us look over your bike fit, come early.
This session is available á la carte. You may take it as a stand-alone class. In three short hours, you will learn to command your bike with precision and confidence.
Truth & Techniques of Traffic Cycling
Tuesday 7/20 from 6PM to 9PM
Location: Florida Hospital Facilities Admin Bldg
1919 N. Orange Avenue, Ste.A, Orlando, FL 32804
Directions: Exit I-4 to Princeton, head East one block to Orange Avenue. Turn Right (South). We are the second building on the Left is a 2-story tan brick building with a black awning (Suite D & E). Continue (East) down the stairs is Suite C and next door is Suite B. Enter into Suite B. Our conference room is to the right. You can park in any of the available spaces.
Through guided discussion with video and animation, this session familiarizes students with bicycle-specific laws, traffic dynamics and problem-solving strategies. Students discover that bicycle drivers are equal road users, with the right and ability to control their space.
Bicycling is very safe and with a few simple techniques, you can make your own cycling virtually conflict-free.
Tour of Orlando
Saturday 7/24 and Sunday 7/31 from 9AM to Noon.
Starting in Colonialtown—location TBA
For the course:
- Bicycle
- Helmet required
- Gloves are a good idea
- Sunblock
- Water bottle
One of your intrepid instructors will haul a cooler to store cold water refills. Eat a balanced breakfast. You may want to bring a snack, as well.
This session is designed to give you the confidence and skills to handle any situation you might encounter.
Requires completion of the classroom and bike handling sessions.
Sessions are $30 each, or $75 for all three. Please bring cash or a check payable to the Florida Bicycle Association. If you would like to pay in advance by credit card, please indicated that in the questions/comments section of the form. FBA will contact you for your credit card information.

We have friends interested in this class. If they take the bike skills class this weekend, any chance there will be another classroom session before the Orlando Tour session on 7/24?
