Well, it is now official. The Pioneer Valley (western Massachusetts) chapter of CyclingSavvy is now recognized on the CyclingSavvy blog. The chapter currently comprises one instructor (me, Eli Damon, of Easthampton) and six other CyclingSavvy graduates. So far, all graduates who live in the region were trained in Portland, Maine, by John Brooking and either Toni Ferrell or myself.
There are some special challenges in getting classes started here in the Pioneer Valley, but I am hopeful that they will be overcome by next Spring. You can learn more from the following resources.
- The CyclingSavvy home page as well as the CommuteOrlando home page, which contains CyclingSavvy proto-materials.
- My personal blog, CYCLES, includes two articles about this project, The Story of CyclingSavvy Pioneer Valley and Pioneers of Mobility, as well as many other cycling-related articles, and my Youtube channel includes many cycling-related videos.
- The chapter has a Yahoo group. Join the group for discussion and planning of the chapter’s development.
- You can email me individually or “friend” me Facebook.
Let’s make a wave and flood this valley with empowerment for unlimited travel.
