Maximize your cycling experience!
The full CyclingSavvy Course INCLUDES Truth & Techniques (classroom session), Train Your Bike (bike handling) session, and our signature on-road experience, Tour of Portland.
- Truth & Techniques: Friday, July 30, 6 – 9 PM, on Zoom. The Zoom address will be distributed by e-mail an hour before the start time.
- Train Your Bike: Saturday, July 31, 9 AM – Noon, at Portland Fish Pier
- Tour of Portland: Saturday, July 31, Noon – 4:30 PM, from Portland Fish Pier
The Tour of Portland is an experiential tour of our local roads. The course includes some of the most intimidating road features (intersections, interchanges, merges, etc.) you may find in your travels. The students travel as a group, stopping to survey and discuss each exercise location. After observing the feature, discussing the traffic dynamics and the best strategy for safe and easy passage, the students ride through individually or with an instructor and regroup at a nearby location.
Train Your Bike (bike handling) and Truth & Techniques (classroom session) are included in this 3-part workshop. Completion of these two sessions is required before taking the tour session.
The ticket below is for the full three-part class, including the Tour of Portland session.
If you have already taken the classroom session or completed the Mastery course online, you are entitled to a $25 discount on the full course (including the classroom session too). E-mail John Brooking and he will send you a discount coupon.
The classroom session may also be held in person at the Bicycle Coalition of Maine office in Portland, if enough registrants prefer this option. If you do, please e-mail John Brooking to let him know, but be prepared to do the session over Zoom. Masks will be required for an in-person session. The uptick in Covid-19 cases suggests caution, and we may only hold the classroom session over Zoom.
