Should I Share that Lane?
This page focuses on lane width, but a lot of factors play into whether or not you should share a lane. They include, but are not limited to:
- pavement conditions
- frequency of intersections and driveways
- sight line obstructions
- speed of traffic (faster traffic requires more passing clearance, thus greater width to safely share)
- turn lane (always control turn lanes and roundabouts)
