A childlike joy first connected me to riding and tinkering with bikes, and I’m still growing in my understanding of cycling as a freedom practice. From my youth, I’ve worked on bikes and cycled in several disciplines (incl. daily commuting, road racing, mountain, touring, fixed gear, gravel). In graduate school (2007-13), I shared my mechanic experience at a local bike co-op, which led me to a broader understanding of how bicycles can be instrumental to a more sustainable, just, and equitable society. In 2019, I completed CSI training and immediately connected CyclingSavvy to these ideals, and I look forward to spreading the message.
