Mighk Wilson
Founder, Instructor Trainer
Mighk co-founded Florida Bicycle Association and the American Bicycling Education Association, and is the co-developer of the CyclingSavvy traffic cycling curriculum. He has over 150,000 miles and over 50 years of practical cycling experience in all types of urban, suburban, rural and backcountry environments.
Mighk Wilson is a Senior Planner for the regional transportation planning agency MetroPlan Orlando. Since 1993 he has done bicycle and pedestrian planning for the organization, working in the areas of facility planning, funding and prioritization, facility design, safety education, behavioral observations, geographic information systems, and crash analysis, among other efforts. He routinely works with local governments and the Florida DOT on local planning, design and maintenance issues. He received a Bachelor’s in Environmental Studies and Growth Management from Rollins College.
He serves on the Bicycle Technical Committee of the National Committee on Uniform Traffic Control Devices and was part of the beta-testing team for the FHWA’s Pedestrian and Bicycle Crash Analysis Tool.
Mighk is available for expert witness consulting, with a focus on the behavioral and the infrastructure design aspects of bicyclist crashes.
