I am a cycle tourist, urban bicycle commuter, and cycling advocate. I rode my bike across America in 1979 and have led numerous self-contained youth cycling tours throughout the eastern United States and in England since 1984. During my 38-year teaching career, I commuted to and from school for eleven of those years and continue to teach summer cycling camps.
I enjoy riding my bicycle on streets and roads, especially when I have a purpose or destination, and I like being a part of the traffic system. As a CyclingSavvy Instructor, I want others to know how they can enjoy cycling in their community without feeling restricted to riding only on bike paths/lanes.
I am a Scout leader, Ham radio operator, soccer coach, and I enjoy photography.
